Overview
A forging is a workpiece or blank produced by forging deformation of a metal billet. Forging refines the grain structure and aligns the forging flow lines, giving titanium forgings superior strength, toughness and fatigue performance compared with cast or machined parts.
We supply forged titanium and titanium-alloy discs, rings, flanges, blocks and shafts in commercially pure and alloy grades, each with a complete inspection report and material traceability.
Forms available: discs, rings, flanges, blocks, shafts and custom forgings to drawing.
Quality Inspection
Inspection items are applied per design requirement and production conditions — sometimes piece-by-piece, sometimes by batch sampling.
Outline dimensions checked with steel rule, calipers and templates; complex die-forgings verified by precise layout / marking.
Cracks, dents and laps spotted visually; fine defects re-checked after chipping, with flaw detection (NDT) where needed.
Acid-etch macro inspection reveals forging flow lines, cracks and inclusions; reviewed by eye or 10-30× magnifier on a cut section.
Microscope examination of fracture/structure — carbide distribution, grain size and decarburized depth.
Hardness, tensile strength and impact toughness; cold-bend and fatigue tests added per part design.
Results decide acceptance; for any defect we analyse the cause and propose preventive measures.
